1. Develop Routines That Work for You
Routines are your best friend! When I didn’t have routines, I felt like I was constantly rushing around, trying to keep everything in check. But routines have been a lifesaver! Whether it’s a morning routine for getting everyone ready, a bedtime routine for my kids, or a weekly cleaning schedule, having these routines in place has saved me so much time and mental energy. Routines give you a sense of control over your day, and they’ve helped my kids know what to expect and feel secure. I won’t lie—meal planning has been a game-changer for me. I used to stress every evening about what to make for dinner, often scrambling to figure out something that everyone would like. But once I started meal planning, it changed everything. Now, I plan out meals for the week, make a shopping list, and do a bit of prep work ahead of time. This saved me so much time and stress, and my kids are less likely to complain about what’s on the menu! Not only does it reduce the clutter, but it also makes the toys feel fresh and exciting again, even after they’ve been around for a while. Everything—from report cards to permission slips—goes into their binders, so I’m never scrambling to find anything. Plus, if I ever have a school meeting, everything I need is in one place, making it easy to reference past communications or important documents on the spot. Having these binders organized and ready has made school-related tasks so much easier. It’s a small thing, but it’s saved me so much time and effort when it comes to staying on top of my kids’ schoolwork and activities.
6. Keep a Document Safe Box for Important Papers
I used to have important documents all over the place—scattered in drawers, stuffed in random folders, or tucked in corners I forgot about.
